MISMO, the mortgage industry's standards organization, on Oct. 13, 2026, named the first firms to earn its FRAME Advisory Partner Certification (MISMO release via MBA). The credential is aimed at consulting and advisory organizations that help lenders and servicers put AI governance into practice.
The six inaugural partners are Actualize Consulting, Crittora, Falcon Capital Advisors, Tidgewell Results Experience, Teraverde Financial and Viant Eye.
How this fits with FRAME
MISMO launched FRAME in June 2026 as a mortgage-specific approach to understanding AI use cases, assessing risk, assigning governance responsibilities and setting controls. The new announcement is a separate step: it identifies outside firms MISMO has certified to help companies apply that framework.
Jim Deitch, CEO and founder of Teraverde, said lenders are being asked how they govern AI and that the certification lets his firm help with an AI inventory, risk assessments and a governance program. Doug Long, chairman of Crittora, said governance has to hold up at the moment an AI system acts.
What lenders can take from it
A certification identifies firms that MISMO says demonstrated ability to apply the framework. It is not a regulatory approval of any lender's AI use, and it does not replace a company's own compliance review.
Lenders starting an AI governance program can use FRAME as a checklist and, if they hire outside help, ask what deliverables an adviser provides, such as a model inventory and documented risk assessments.
