Corrections Policy

Accuracy is the foundation of mortgage coverage. If we get something wrong, we fix it — and we tell readers we fixed it.

What we correct

  • Material factual errors (rates, dates, figures, names, program details)
  • Misattributed quotes or sources
  • Broken or misleading links to primary sources
  • Meaningful math errors in payment or rate examples

How we mark corrections

Corrections are made in the article body and noted with a dated correction line at the top or bottom of the piece explaining what changed. Substantive updates that materially change the story are labeled as updates and re-dated.

Request a correction

Email corrections@mortgage.news with the article URL, the specific claim in question, and the source supporting the correction. We review every request and respond within a reasonable timeframe.
