Mullinix Mortgage Group joins New American Funding in the Carolinas
The October 13 announcement adds a Carolinas-based team to New American Funding. Its reported $2 billion of originations is career volume, not an annual result.

Mullinix Mortgage Group is joining New American Funding, the lender announced on October 13. The team serves borrowers from offices in Charlotte and Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina.
For originators and branch managers, this is a specific team move rather than a new nationwide loan program. For borrowers working with the group, the practical issue is understanding which company will handle a new application and confirming the contacts and documents that apply to their own transaction.
What the company announced
New American Funding says Will Mullinix and the group bring more than $2 billion of mortgage originations over his career of more than 20 years. That is cumulative career volume, not one year’s production or a forecast of what the team will originate at its new company.
The announcement says the group is licensed in North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. It describes a focus on residential purchase and refinance lending.
The company also names Taylor Linde, Morgan Wise, Lenzi Moore, Don Walker and Marty Pizzo among the loan officers and support staff joining with the group. These details identify the announced team transition; they do not establish that every product is available to every borrower in every state.
A team move is not a promise of better loan terms
The release emphasizes New American Funding’s product platform and national reach. Those are the company’s stated reasons for the fit, not independent evidence that a borrower will receive a lower rate, reduced fees or a faster closing.
Borrowers comparing financing should still review the actual loan terms and costs. A lender’s organizational change does not replace the need to compare equivalent loan scenarios and understand any conditions attached to an offer.
The announcement also refers to a Vesta loan-origination system rollout planned for 2027. That is future implementation, not a system the release establishes as already operating for this team. It should not be used to promise an immediate change in the application experience.
What to confirm on an active transaction
A borrower with a loan already in progress can ask their current contact whether the move affects that specific file, where documents should be submitted and whom to contact about the closing timetable. The announcement does not spell out the handling of every existing application.
For mortgage professionals, the meaningful news is the addition of an established regional team to a larger lender. Keep the reported career production, current team membership and planned technology rollout in their separate categories. Combining them into a claim of guaranteed future production or borrower savings would go beyond the evidence.
