D.R. Horton Signs Multi-Year Deal With Promise Robotics for Factory-Built Components

Promise Robotics said on Oct. 13, 2026, that it signed a multi-year commercial agreement with D.R. Horton (Promise Robotics release). Under the deal, D.R. Horton will use Promise's Factory-as-a-Service production platform to support the production of more than 1,250 homes.

That figure describes the production capacity the agreement supports. It does not mean 1,250 homes have been built.

How the model works

Promise says its service takes a builder's existing home designs and turns them into a coordinated process covering robotic manufacturing, factory work and onsite installation, so builders can access automated capacity without building their own plants.

As part of its U.S. expansion, the company plans a factory in Phoenix that it expects to begin manufacturing in early 2027.

Brad Conlon, D.R. Horton's senior vice president of strategic growth and innovation, said the builder is focused on cycle times, production capacity and consistency.

What it means for buyers and builders

Factory production could shorten parts of construction and make schedules more predictable, but the release does not report cost or time savings, and the effect on housing supply is not yet measurable.

Buyers of new homes should still rely on the builder's contract for completion dates. Builders and lenders financing new construction can watch whether the Phoenix plant opens on schedule and how production results are reported.
