Editorial Policy
Mortgage.news publishes coverage for borrowers, loan officers, brokers, and lenders. Because our content touches financial decisions, we hold every article to a consistent standard of sourcing, accuracy, and independence.
Sourcing
When we cite rates, market data, regulatory action, or program changes, we prioritize primary sources: Federal Reserve releases, Treasury data, MBS market prints, Freddie Mac PMMS, MBA weekly applications survey, ICE Mortgage Monitor, CFPB, HUD, VA, FHFA, and direct communications from Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae. Named lender, investor, and originator commentary is preferred over anonymous sourcing.
How articles are produced
Articles are prepared against the sources they cite, and rate figures and payment math are checked against those sources at the time of publication. AI tools are used in research, drafting, formatting, and publishing. Some articles are produced and published through an automated workflow authorized by the publisher, without a separate line-by-line human edit before they go live.
Accountability
Every article is published under a named author who is accountable for its content. Published articles are reviewed after publication, and errors are corrected and disclosed under our corrections policy.
Independence
Editorial coverage is independent of advertising, sponsorship, and any affiliate arrangements. Advertisers and sponsors do not review, edit, or approve editorial content. Where a business relationship could reasonably be perceived as material, we disclose it in the article. See our advertising disclosure.
Corrections
We correct material factual errors promptly and note the correction in the article. See our corrections policy for how to submit a correction request.
Not personalized advice
Coverage is journalism, not personalized mortgage, tax, or legal advice. Borrowers should confirm current rates, program guidelines, and eligibility with a licensed lender or advisor before acting.
