The Latest 10-Year Treasury Movers and Market Updates

The next major movers for the 10-year Treasury are mostly inflation/Fed-policy catalysts, with labor data next in line.

Right now, the 10-year is trading like the market is trying to decide whether inflation risk is back or the economy is finally cooling. Last week, the 10-year was around the 4.45%–4.50% area, and the weak June jobs report cooled rate-hike pressure a bit.

Biggest upcoming 10-year Treasury movers

1. FOMC minutes — Wednesday, July 8, 2026
This is the immediate one. The market will look for whether the Fed is truly worried about inflation again or just staying patient. Hawkish minutes = 10-year likely higher. Softer minutes = 10-year likely lower.

2. CPI — Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 8:30 AM ET
This is probably the biggest scheduled mover. A hot CPI print could push the 10-year up fast because it would reinforce “higher for longer” or even hike risk. A soft CPI print could help bonds rally and push yields lower.

3. PPI — Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 8:30 AM ET
PPI matters because it feeds the inflation pipeline. If producer costs are still hot, the market may price in stickier inflation before it hits consumer prices.

4. Treasury supply / refunding — next quarterly refunding release scheduled August 5, 2026
This matters more than people think. If Treasury signals heavier long-end issuance, the 10-year can move higher even without hot economic data. Treasury says its auction schedule is tied to quarterly refunding, usually on the first Wednesday of February, May, August, and November.

5. GDP + PCE inflation — Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 8:30 AM ET
This is a monster day because advance Q2 GDP and June Personal Income/Outlays/PCE hit together. PCE is the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge, so this can move bonds hard, especially if CPI already made the market nervous.

6. July FOMC decision — Wednesday, July 29, 2026
The Fed’s next scheduled meeting is July 28–29. The market is currently leaning toward no change, but even a small shift in tone can move the 10-year.

7. Next jobs report — Friday, August 7, 2026 at 8:30 AM ET
The last jobs report was weak, with only 57,000 jobs added in June, so the next one matters. Another weak print could pull yields lower. A rebound could push yields back up.

For mortgage purposes

The biggest near-term lock/float risk is:

July 14 CPI → July 15 PPI → July 29 Fed → July 30 GDP/PCE

That stretch can easily move the 10-year and mortgage pricing. If CPI comes in hot, I would expect pressure on rates. If CPI and PCE cool, that is your best chance for a bond rally.
